DonBosco Technical Institute was established in 1982 in Dodoma through the cooperative efforts of the Archdiocese of Dodoma, the Salesians of Don Bosco Eastern Africa and three funding donors: Miserior (Germany), VIA Don Bosco (Belgium) and CEBEMO (Holland). Don Bosco technical institute was started with aim of empowering young people with a trade of their choice. A small and humble beginning with about ten boys in welding department has grown to be well-equipped and full-fledged technical institute with 240 students.

We seek to empower the institution to be the preferred choice of students, employers and practitioners seeking further education


We, the Salesians and staff of Don Bosco Technical Institute Dodoma, commit ourselves to provide quality education and holistic formation towards social transformation through skills, knowledge and attitude. Inspired by Don Bosco Education System and guided by the Preventive System of Don Bosco, we animate the young to become good Christians and upright citizens.

Our Courses

At present we give training in thirteen traders such as Welding,Fitter turner,Carpentry,Masonry, Plumbing,Electrical,Motor vehicle mechanic and Driving school. Apart from imparting trade to these young boys and girls who attend our institute we provide them spiritual,cultural and physical formation.
